Ahhm delivers a quiet, clean, undetectable radiant heating and cooling experience that one can control room to room, all from a smartphone. The Ahhm system delivers the most superior indoor air quality experience of any other approach currently on the market in residential home construction.

As architects design more open floor plans, traditional forced air systems are becoming obsolete. The Ahhm radiant heating and cooling system is comprised of aluminum panels with channels integrated into a series of panels placed in the ceiling joist bays.

The Ahhm Radiant system uses radiant panels to simultaneously transfer heat energy from panels to other room surfaces and masses – and to absorb excess heat energy from those very same sources. In both cases, the fluid (a mixture of water and glycol) flowing into the panels comes from the same energy source. In the most diffused cases, this source is a collection of heat pumps that can rapidly shift between heating and cooling modes. The amount of panels needed for each room is determined by reviewing cooling and heating loads to ensure that our system can provide a constant temperature year round. Dehumidification is provided during cooling to mitigate condensation concerns.

Gone are the days of noisy forced air systems delivering air filled with dust and other contaminants throughout the home.

Ahhm System Components

Ahhm provides the entire Radiant System as an integrated pre-fab solution. We supply the panels, fittings and Pex pipes, the insulation materials, manifolds and actuators. Often, Ahhm also provides smart, pre-fab hydronic modules that manage the temperature and circulation of the water. Because the Radiant Systems, when in cooling mode, require a dedicated and precise dew point control, Ahhm also provides a universal digital room-by room-control system. This includes specific dehumidifiers that help the ventilation systems to optimize humidity levels.

Ahhm Panels for
Residential Use

For residential construction, Ahhm uses three specific panel sizes: 24″ x 48″, 16″ x 48” and 22.4” x 22.4”. These panels match typical US construction standards. Once the panels are screwed between the joists, and connected at the main water lines with the provided fittings, the final surface can be directly screwed at the same joists. This setup will conceal the panels that will be in strict contact through a double-sided sticky heat transfer film. This film must be peeled before the final contact.

Flowing water is much more efficient than using air to convey energy, and much more precise in delivering the right quantity required. A water-based HVAC makes possible many renewable sources of production in the most optimum and efficient working hours (during night for cooling, and during daytime for heating). It also facilitates the storage of the energy in order to be used on demand.

Ahhm Panels for Commercial Use

Ahhm is a fantastic system for commercial buildings. Ahhm panels are placed in direct contact with dropped metal ceilings, exchanging all the energy provided by the water in the main lines. The high conductive contact between the two metal surfaces – facilitated by the heat transfer film on the flat side of the Ahhm panel – creates excellent heating and cooling performance. In the case of a retrofit of an existing building, a normal T-Bar framing can fit the Ahhm system. This reduces the Air duct dimensions, air flow, noise, vents and health issues.
